The Brief: A Timeless Kitchen for a New Badagarang Home
Working alongside Stiletto Homes on a new build gave us the chance to plan the joinery properly from the outset — services, appliance positions and cabinetry all resolved before a single panel was cut. The brief was simple and clear: a classic kitchen in a light palette, warm enough to feel lived in and neutral enough to sit comfortably with whatever the owners bring into the home later.
Shaker cabinetry was the natural answer. It’s a profile with genuine longevity, and, paired with a soft, light finish, it keeps the room feeling fresh and bright rather than heavy. Every cabinet, panel and benchtop in this new kitchen was designed, manufactured and installed by our own team, which is how we keep the tolerances tight on a full joinery package like this one.
The Finished Kitchen: Surf Polyurethane and Smartstone Benchtops
The cabinetry is finished in Laminex Surf polyurethane, shaped in a shaker profile that adds quiet depth and shadow line without crowding the room. It’s a soft, classic tone — the kind of colour that reads differently through the day as the light moves and never fights with the flooring, splashback or furniture around it.
Sitting above it is 20mm Smartstone Bellini Bianco, a slim, clean stone edge that keeps the whole kitchen feeling light on its feet. The thinner profile is a deliberate choice here: a chunkier benchtop would have added visual weight the brief didn’t call for. Finishing the look are St George handles from Handle House, the detail that lifts the kitchen from simply well-made to genuinely considered.
